In this set of lessons we will use a project-based approach to learn about modeling tools and techniques of Maya.

"In this course we will have an introductory view of a modeling process in Maya. We will use a project-based approach to cover the basics of modeling, looking at the commonly used tools, and talk about some time-saving tips and techniques gleaned from of production experience. Let’s start by looking at the various geometry types available to you and how you can actually convert between different types. You will learn how to organize your model into hierarchies and keep your scene clean and efficient. We will also give a look at the various modeling tools, including tools such as extrude polygonal lasso tool and the insertion tip for adding resolution NURBS tools like extrude and loft to create smooth surfaces, and also some tools SUBD. Let’s take a look at the use of a workflow smoothing or subdivision and distorting use to help shape our models. Let’s do a slightly different approach to this introductory course, when we’re not going to talk about all the Maya modeling tools, but tools that focus you will find most useful when you start the modeling process. Once you have a better understanding of how these tools work together, you will be able to create your own modeling solutions and actually get to a workflow that is comfortable for you. "
